The 14-carat gold bar brooch is from the late Victorian era. It is in the shape of a butterfly place on an arrow. The arrow and butterfly are set with diamonds (33 in total). The diamonds are all rose cut. Four diamonds weigh approximately 0.05ct each; 10 weigh approximately 0.04ct each; six weigh approximately 0.03ct each; nine weigh approximately 0.02ct each; and four weigh approximately 0.015ct each for a total of just over 1 carats. The brooch is unmarked but tests at least 14ct gold.
