Whether you are moving towards spring in the Southern Hemisphere or fall in the northern hemisphere, the changing of the seasons is perhaps the perfect opportunity to unblock the flow and inspire creativity in your home or office space.
Breathe some new life into stale spaces with these top tips:
1.) Cool things down with colour
We have written before about colour and how it affects moods differently. In this case, soothing blues and light greens are perfect if you feel you are lacking a creative and productive edge. If you are reluctant to repaint an entire room try using accent pieces such as furniture, lighting or art.
2.) Let the sunshine in
For an instant pick me up the comforting warmth of natural light can immediately lift the mood in a room. Lighter and brighter spaces make us happier and more energetic. If you are dealing with limited space or fewer windows try using strategically placed mirrors to create the illusion of natural light through reflection.
3.) Less is more
Clear out the clutter. Clean, open spaces eliminate stress and are more conducive to creativity and productivity. Less distractions = more focus.
4.) The bold type
A bold statement piece of furniture or art is a fun way to give a room a makeover and change the look and feel of a space. 2017 is all about embracing the bold, from boho inspired pieces to the revival of Art Deco.
5.) Light it up
Simply swapping out the old light fixtures in your home or office for something new or completely different can be a way to instantly hit the reset button on your space. Think statement chandeliers, interesting lamp shades and spot lighting.
